Description
Alloy Shearwater alto A whistle. Tuneable.
Hailing form Northumberland and individually hand-made made by John Bushby. Shearwater Whistles are named after a small migratory seabird found on the Bass Strait islands off the north east tip of Tasmania, Australia. John migrated from Tasmania to the UK in 2005 so there you have it!
John’s whistles feature a curved windway to alleviate condensation problems and an acetal mouthpiece. The offset finger holes make for easy playability.
All models are well intonated and jump nicely up to the second octave.
Shearwater Whistles are characterized by a mellow sound with a bit of chiff; they require a reasonable amount of air but you are rewarded with a truly unique sound.
